Prospero Rasulo

Prospero Rasulo has designed for Fiam the coffee table in curved glass Charlotte, available also as console (Charlotte Console), composition of coffee tables (Charlotte Tris) and bedside table (Charlotte de Nuit).

Rasulo was born in Stigliano di Matera in 1953. He attended the Art Academy of Brera in Milan. Artist and designer, in 1980 he began designing stage sets, creating paintings and sculptures, and designing public and private spaces. His research on the sensory component of the surfaces has led him to experiment different combinations of materials in a creative way.

It was in these years that he started collaborating with the Alchimia studio and with Alessandro Mendini on the subject of “Redesign” and “Oggetto banale”

The beginning as independent designer

From 1982 he began to present to the world his own vision of design, alternating his work as designer with that of promoter of cultural events such “Sexy Design”, “L’immagine imprudente” and “Abitare con arte”.

In 1987 he founded the “Oxido” studio, a gallery of project, art, design, architecture that also became the brand of collections of furniture and interior design items. In 1994 he produced “Piatto fax” and “Trash furniture” and in 1998 “Eco mimetico”.

As industrial designer he worked in partnership with various companies, including Arflex, Foscarini, B.R.F., WMF, Zanotta, Poltronova ,Antonio Lupi, FIAM, Mandelli, Gessi, Glas, Rosenthal, Fabbian and Valdama.
